Job summary

We are looking for a Band A Dentist in Special Care Dentistry to work for 2 days (15 hours) per week on a fixed term basis for 2 years.

This post is an exciting opportunity to be part of a large, well-established community and specialist dental service, working amongst a professional, friendly dental team. The role is clinical in nature and the role will predominantly involve working within the community carrying out care home screening and managing patients within a domiciliary and clinic setting.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will be responsible for delivering dental care and advice to patients of the Community Dental Service which will be predominantly for care home screening, patients within a domiciliary setting as well as within clinic when required.

Providing dental screening within care homes.

Responsible for the provision of comprehensive dental care for patients referred to the Community Dental Service (CDS) predominantly in domiciliary settings for housebound patients as well as in clinics when required.

Undertake thorough examination, diagnosis and assessment of patients.

Carry out treatment planning and care management for a range of patients.

To plan, develop, implement and evaluate appropriate interventions to prevent disease and promote health for individual patients.
