Band 6 - Children's Special School NurseMerton Integrated Complex Needs Team- based at Perseid School

37.5hrs per week (x5 days Monday to Friday- 08.15-16.15 Hrs.)Whole Time/Term time offered.

The School Health Team at Perseid are seeking a dynamic individual with a strong public health/ clinical expertise and leadership focus who is fully committed to improving the health and wellbeing of our diverse school aged population. You will be a highly motivated individual with an interest in proactively managing and implementing the identified health needs within student's Educational Health and Care Plans (EHCP) within the special school setting.

We are looking for a highly skilled and dedicated special school nurse for Perseid school in Merton. Experience of working with children and young people with complex health needs is essential. Your role will be to deliver and support the nursing team in delivering the identified health needs within the integrated educational and health special school setting, supporting students to be safely at school. The successful candidate will be required to implement the recommendations in the Education and Health Care Plan/ Health Care Plans and deliver the clinical component of care within a special school setting with students aged 3-19yrs.

Main duties of the job

You will be able to work independently and support the team leader developing the skills of the nursing and integrated health team in school.

You will work closely with established multi-professional teams within Perseid school across 2 school campuses to deliver the student's nursing needs via the daily list. This includes PEG feeding, administration of daily and emergency medication, supporting school staff managing medications on trips and being the senior nurse on call during school hours.

You will have had experience of working with children with complex needs in the community/ school setting and your communication and team working skills will be outstanding.
