Specialist Community Rehab Dietitian - B6- Merton

We have an exciting opportunity immediately available for a full-time Band 6 Dietitian who is looking to develop their clinical skills in the community working with adults in nutrition support and gastroenterology conditions, joining an established and friendly community-based Nutrition and Dietetic service in Merton.

We are looking for an experienced, passionate, and confident dietitian who can work independently as well as being part of our team.

You should have excellent communication skills, be effective in multidisciplinary team working and be able to deliver both group education and individual interventions within a community setting.

The successful candidate will demonstrate skills and knowledge in autonomously managing a varied caseload of nutrition support, home enteral feeding, and long-term conditions.

There will be a particular focus on patients with a neurological pathology, working as part of an MDT neuro rehab service. You will be required to undertake teaching of other health professionals, as well as opportunity to line manager and supervise junior members of staff. You will have the opportunity to be involved in, research, audits and other quality improvement initiatives within the dietetic department and cross site at CLCH.

Main duties of the job

Due to the covid pandemic much of our work is currently carried out online working from home with virtual clinics, although this is being regularly reviewed. You will be required to do a minimum once weekly home and care home visits in London Borough of Merton. Ideally the candidate will have full UK driving license with access to the team's pool car or their own vehicle. However, public transport can also be used.

The dietetic department currently undertakes student training for placements 2 and 3. You will be actively involved in supervising students. CLCH has a fantastic CPD programme, and we are committed to providing excellent line management, supervision / support, and specialist training including home enteral feeding and low FODMAP diet advanced course. In order to support you in this role, you would receive training and supervision tailored to your needs.

The service currently operates between Monday - Friday, 9am -5pm, excluding Bank Holidays.

This will require collation of complex information including nutritional assessment, diagnosis and interpretation of biochemistry, anthropometry, clinical condition, and diet history.
