In Sexual Health

We are looking for a part time health care assistant in our busy Sexual Health Clinic in Stevenage. Sexual Health Hertfordshire is commissioned to deliver genitourinary medicine, contraception care and manage HIV care within the community. If this interests you, we would be delighted to hear from you.

Desired skills for this role include

  • Care Certificate or willingness to undertake

Successful applicants will be offered training

The salary is Band 3

26 hrs per week

Main duties of the job

Assist in the provision of GUM/Contraception/HIV care to patients, supporting and supervised by a registered nurse.

Carry out assigned duties which maintain a quality clinical service, orderliness and safety of the departmental environment.

Fulfil any clerical duties.

To be flexible in the approach to the clinical area and provide cover for any area specified.

Demonstrate a courteous and helpful approach to clients, their partners and visitors in the clinical area, providing a welcoming, non-judgemental confidential service to all clients.

Carry out assigned clerical tasks as directed by a registered nurse

Cover for clinic reception as required.

Promote the corporate image of Sexual Health Hertfordshire to all individuals, groups and organisations, both within the Trust and externally to the community at large.

To act always as to enhance and maintain effective working relationships within the multi-disciplinary team (MDT).

Essential

  • Higher Professional Diploma in Health and Wellbeing (NVQ/QCF - Level 3) or a recognized equivalent course and a willingness to undertake further training as appropriate.

Desirable

  • Phlebotomy skills
  • GCSE grade A-C or equivalent in English and Maths
  • ECDL Certificate
  • Registration with the national regulatory body (when it becomes available
