Job summary

CLCH Hertfordshire Adult Community Services - CLCH NHS Trust provides a range of Community Services, and the Hertfordshire Division is recruiting!

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic, experienced, motivated Health Advisor Band 7 Team lead. The post is a 30-hour position based within Hatfield Sexual Health Clinic, although the successful applicant would be expected to work across site to support all the main sexual health hubs (Hatfield, Stevenage, Watford). Sexual Health Hertfordshire is a progressive service, specialising in integrated sexual health services (Contraception and Genitourinary Medicine), HIV Medicine, National Chlamydia Screening Program, and specialist outreach.

We are looking for someone who has experience in managing staff, possesses excellent interpersonal and communication skills along with the ability to work with a complex range of clients in an innovative sexual health setting. You will have a key role in the psychological management of patients and leading on risk reduction interventions.

Main duties of the job

This is an opportunity to take forward health advising developments across the county. The health adviser service has senior advisers who will support the role, health advisers and HA assistants across four level 3 hubs.

This post is a key player at the Local and Pan Herts Heads of Department meetings and the monthly Pan Herts HA Meetings.

80% of the post is protected management time to undertake the Professional Team Lead role. The post is also supported by the lead clinician for GUM, lead clinician for HIV and the lead nurse for sexual health.

  • Registered Nurse with current UK NMC registration
  • CQSW qualification or Relevant Public Health Qualification to MSC degree level
  • Contraception and sexual health qualification or relevant courses (e.g. BASHH STI foundation intermediate competency)
  • ENB 998 or equivalent training/mentoring certificate
  • To work under Patient Group Directives/Patient Specific Direction

Desirable

  • Psychosexual counselling

Experience

Essential

  • 4 years' experience of providing care and treatment to patients with sexual health needs at an advanced level.
  • Experience of health promotion and education
  • Experience in Partner Notification
  • Evidence of utilising Evidence -based Practice.
