We cover 11 London boroughs and Hertfordshire and provide in-patient beds, community nursing, outpatient care, walk in centres, children's services, sexual health services, specialist services.... and much, much more. This is a new role and is key to developing a culture focused on excellent organisational performance. We need someone who can take a helicopter view of our performance challenges, service delivery issues and transformation activities. You will be responsible for understanding our performance and demand, improving our planning functions, and using digital tools to support scenario planning, and resource allocation. Developing relationships with peers within the provider collaborative will be key, as well as the wider ICB/ICS networks.
Main duties of the job
To be the strategic lead for the Trust's approach to performance improvement and organisational planning. strengthening our approach to strategy deployment and performance improvement planning.
To draw on a wide range of information, proactively share innovation, improvement and learning to benefit our patients and the wider system.
To identify and drive performance improvement initiatives, developing new capability including scenario planning.

The Director of Performance, Planning and Insight acts on behalf of the organisation to support both strategy deployment and delivery of organizational objectives.
Key responsibilities are:
- Strategic leadership of specific operational service developments and transformation, working collaboratively with Executive and operational colleagues as determined by the COO;
- Identification of strategic performance and insight opportunities drawing on knowledge and best practice from other NHS organisations and sectors;
- Lead the development of scenario plans and business cases to support performance improvement and spread innovation;
- Supporting targeted improvement initiatives drawing on performance information and best practice knowledge and expertise;
- Ensuring national, regional and local strategic developments are reflected in the Trusts planning processes, modelling implications and advising on strategic implications for the Trust and the wider system;
- Promoting the value of community services to patients and the local system, drawing on quality, activity and other data sources, ensuring our contribution to prevention, continuity of care and access to high quality services are evidenced;
- Establishing a strong external network of information sharing and benchmarking, to ensure the Trust is fully abreast of innovation and opportunities drawn from across the NHS and other sectors; and proactively supporting the Boards thinking and discussions relating to improved performance, responding rapidly by providing briefings and undertaking scenario planning exercises where required. Managing the budget for all associated cost centres including the Insight Team and Business Planning
