Our Parson Green Walk-in Centre is a standalone service with a multidisciplinary team that delivers high quality unscheduled care services for both adults and paediatrics. Job Title - Senior Advanced Nurse Practitioner/Clinical lead

Operational hours: 7 days per week, including bank holidays.

Working in a clinical leadership role as part of a multi-disciplinary team, you will ensure that our patients receive an exceptional level of care.

The successful candidate will be an autonomous, experienced practitioner who enjoys teaching and working with practitioners to advance their skills in the assessment and treatment of minor illnesses and injuries for people of all ages.

Main duties of the job

The role is a clinical leadership role with the main duties of the job will include:

  • Ensure Parson Green WIC is delivering high quality evidence-based care to patients attending with injuries and undifferentiated health problems. The post holder will be expected to work autonomously as a Nurse Practitioner delivering care to our patients.
  • Utilising expert diagnostic skills and clinical reasoning to provide autonomous, unscheduled care for patients presenting with acute undifferentiated conditions (most commonly minor injuries and ailments although some patients attending may present with complex health needs and / or acute on chronic conditions).
  • The post holder will deliver care in collaboration with emergency services, other health care professionals, statutory and voluntary agencies.
  • To work in association with colleagues in defining standards of care and practice aimed at maintaining, developing, or improving quality.
  • To work with the senior staff in the operational management and the organisational development of the service.
  • Act as the Shift Leader on a rotational basis assuming responsibility for day-to-day management of the service.
  • Take designated responsibility for discrete areas of operational management/clinical practice.
  • Communicate highly complex and sensitive information to patients, carers and other staff.
  • Deliver care within a culturally sensitive framework.
  • Implement, carry out disseminate and evaluate service audits

Essential

  • Registered Nurse with current NMC registration/ Physiotherapist or Paramedic with HCPC registration
  • BSc (Hons) / MSc Nurse / Paramedic/ Physiotherapy Practitioner Primary Health Care/ Advanced Practice /holder of advanced qualification in acute medicine / orthopaedic medicine A/B/C course
  • Qualification in Community and/ or Accident and Emergency / postgraduate specialist musculo-skeletal training at master's level or above
  • Independent Non-Medical Prescriber.
  • Evidence of Management/ Leadership training.
  • Evidence of teaching demonstrated by a suitable qualification or accredited experience

Desirable

  • Evidence of continuing professional education and training at master's level.
  • Further desirable qualifications in Primary Care/ Accident & Emergency.
  • Experience working with Paediatrics
  • Recognised dual qualification in Paediatrics / orthopaedics or mental health.
  • Recognised qualification in Minor Injuries.
