Job summary

Birmingham Community Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust is seeking an outstanding Deputy Director of Estates to provide senior leadership across a large, diverse and strategically important estate supporting community healthcare services across Birmingham and beyond.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced estates leader who can bring strategic insight, strong leadership and a commitment to delivering a safe, sustainable and future-focused estate.

Main duties of the job

The Deputy Director of Estates will support and deputise fully for the Director of Estates, providing high-level leadership across the estate portfolio and ensuring the delivery of the Trust's Estates Delivery Plan.

This role provides strategic oversight and direction across the estates function and ensures alignment between estates development, capital investment planning, property strategy and service needs.

The post holder will directly line manage the Head of Land & Property and the Head of Capital, ensuring effective delivery across property management and capital development programmes.

Please note: Engineering and statutory compliance functions are led by the Head of Estates, and this post provides senior leadership and assurance across the directorate rather than operational management of those technical areas.

  • Postgraduate management qualification desirable

  • Senior estates leadership in NHS or complex estates environment
  • Management of multi-disciplinary estates and facilities teams
  • Compliance with HTMs, HBNs, and estates legislation
  • Statutory returns production (ERIC, PLACE, PAM)
