The post holder will work as part of the Neurodevelopmental Pathway Service, aimed at improving the care of children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and other linked comorbidities across the city, both pre and post diagnosis. This is an exciting opportunity for the right person to join a new team of dedicated staff.This post will play a key role implementing interventions to promote the health and wellbeing of children, young people and the families affected by Autism, ADHD and other comorbidities. The post will assist the team in providing additional support for any child or young person pre and post Autism and ADHD diagnosis. They will be a main link for children within the Autism and ADHD pathway, working as an integral member of the multi-disciplinary team who will positively represent the needs and rights of children and young people in promoting equality.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will assist in co-ordinating clinical and educational support including group sessions to support all staff, families and professionals.

  • NVQ Level 3 in a child or young adult related subject or equivalent
  • Evidence of literacy / numeracy skills [GCSE or equivalent

Experience

  • Significant experience of working with children and young people

  • Community experience within a similar role

Skills/Knowledge

  • Ability to work alone and as part of a team
  • Experience of handling confidential and sensitive information
  • Excellent communication skills both oral and written
  • Excellent IT skills/ability to navigate electronic health records.
  • Ability to manage own workload and know when to report concerns
  • Competent and confident in the importance of the safeguarding agenda

Desirable

  • Design and development of standard and bespoke data reports
  • knowledge and understanding of Microsoft Office packages e.g. Outlook, Word, Excel and Powerpoint
