Job summary
This is an exciting opportunity to support Nursing and Therapies in Quality Assurance. This role will last 3 months, with potential to be extended.
The post holder is the lead for the management of CQC regulation (inspection and regulation) across the Trust. This will involve working across the Divisions, Directorates and corporate specialists to ensure compliance and improvement at service level, supporting the implementation of quality improvement plans.
The post holder will be responsible for managing the CQC Provider Information Request (PIR) document and quality standards required for a large complex organisation.
The post holder will play a key part in developing a culture of continuous quality improvement across all services providing focused support where necessary to maximise achieve net against internal and external standards.
The post holder will be the lead across the Trust for policy and procedure framework ensuring compliance with governance standards a set out in the Trust Policy for Policies.
In line with the Trust being a major provider in Community and Primary Care Services, the post holder will be expected to support these developments and take responsibility for areas of responsibility with any future service developments.
Main duties of the job
Quality Standards and assurance
- Offer specialist advice to other corporate specialists and Divisions across the Trust in relation to the CQC regulation as defined in the Health and Social care Act (Regulated Activities) 2014.
- Oversee, manage and develop the self-assessment compliance system for the Trust.
Governance
- Continually develop, maintain and monitor systems and processes that ensure the Trust is compliant with the Care Quality Commission's Fundamental Standards of Care.
Trust Policy Framework
- Responsible for overseeing the Trust policy and procedural framework ensuring governance standards are met. This includes:
Acting as lead for the Trust for the policy development (i.e. policies, procedures and guidelines).
Overseeing the mechanism for new policy development and policy review.
Supporting authors as they develop a document acquiring approval and giving advice on approval/ratification routes for documents which require approval.
Training
- This post demands highly specialist skills which in turn will formulate training packages to be delivered to senior and front-line staff across the Trust.
Management
- Deputise for Deputy Chief Nurse as required.
- Involvement in disciplinary procedure, including acting as an investigating manager and presenting cases and participating as a panel member on disciplinary hearings.
