Main duties of the job

The Service Clinical Manager (SCM) will be primarily responsible for the clinical management, leadership, planning and delivery of clinical services across the associated portfolio.

This opportunity will provide leadership to the Children's Nutrition & Dietetic service, facilitating a seamless service which supports children's nutritional care on discharge and in the community. There are complex clinical cases that need experienced support therefore an excellent grasp of dietetic practice and enteral feeding management is essential. Knowledge of safeguarding procedures to support clinically vulnerable patients is also necessary. There is an opportunity to maintain a clinical caseload in an appropriate area.

The successful candidate will work closely with the Professional Lead for Paediatric Dietetics, other SCM's, the Group Clinical Manager, Group Manager and associated Service Manager to ensure the service resources are used effectively so as clinical and professional nursing and dietetic standards are met. As a senior clinical leader, they will act as an expert resource using their clinical knowledge and skills to inform service developments. As a leader they will be a role model to other colleagues ensuring all children, young people and their families/carers receive a high standard of care which is compassionate, inclusive, and individual to their specific needs and wishes.
