Job summary
We are seeking an enthusiastic and conscientious Specialist in Paediatric Dentistry to join the Paediatric Dentistry Team in Birmingham Community Healthcare NHS Trust. This role will be based at the Dental Hospital with one day working in the Community at one of our Community Clinics.
This is a Consultant lead specialist service providing high quality dentistry to anxious children and children with special needs, in multiple sites across Birmingham, Sandwell, Walsall and Dudley. The service also provides mobile dental services at selected schools. General anaesthetic care is provided at Walsall Manor and Sandwell General Hospital and the dental hospital.
This role is a 12 month fixed term contract to cover maternity leave. Part time 0.8 WTE (30 hours per week)
Main duties of the job
To provide high quality dental treatment for children with a wide range of high treatment needs including those who have special needs and are unable to access care in the General Dental Service
To carry out the full range of clinical procedures, including inhalation sedation and IV sedation if competent to do so.
To support the undergraduate and post graduate teaching within BCHC.
The post holder will be required to move between different sites and settings within BCHC.
