Job summary
We are seeking an enthusiastic and conscientious individual with significant experience in paediatric dentistry to join the Paediatric Dentistry Team in Birmingham Community Healthcare NHS Trust. The role will be based in the Dudley locality but the candidate will need to be able to move to locations across BCHC sites to deliver patient care when necessary.
This is a Consultant lead specialist service providing high quality dentistry to anxious children and children with special needs, in multiple sites across Birmingham, Sandwell, Walsall and Dudley. The service also provides mobile dental services at selected schools. General anaesthetic care is provided at Walsall Manor and Sandwell General Hospital.
Main duties of the job
The main job role is to provide senior support based in Dudley providing specialised dental care for children who fulfil the acceptance criteria for community paediatric dentistry. Alongside this the senior dental officer is expected to work with the other senior dental officers taking a lead role in areas such as the dental mobile, line management and the development of staff, undergraduate dental student and therapy teaching, clinical governance, audit and dental sedation and the general anaesthetic service.
