An exciting opportunity has arisen to join ourSpecialist Neuro-Rehab Occupational Therapist team on the Inpatient Neuro Rehabilitation Unit (INRU). The unit is a level 1b regional rehabilitation unit. The successful candidate will support the Occupational Therapy Team We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Band 4 Advanced Technical Instructor to join our In-patient Occupational Therapy Team.

The successful applicant must have significant experience as a therapy assistant. The role includes supporting our qualified members of staff, the post holder will be working on rehabilitation goals supporting in assessing patients and delivering complex treatments with patients under the guidance of the qualified staff pproviding high quality assessment & treatment to clients with complex neurological disabilities. The role is a mixture of clinical and non-clinical duties; some non-clinical duties involve assisting with the running of the department including data collection and equipment ordering & maintenance.

Main duties of the job

The candidate will require experience in rehabilitation of patients with complex neurological disability. The team comprises of administrative staff, Occupational Therapist physiotherapists, clinical psychologists, speech & language therapists, nurses and skilled support staff. You will be working as part of a large and supportive therapy team with excellent training and development opportunities as well as a robust supervision and appraisal system. There are well-established team meetings and CPD is well supported. You will be encouraged to take part in service development projects as appropriate.

Excellent communication skills and flexibility is essential. Desirable experience will include working in multi-professional teams and across a range of different agencies to achieve the optimum outcome for service users.

Thesuccessful candidate will be enthusiastic, dynamic, flexible and able to work well within the integrated team. They will offer previous experience in the NHS relevant to this post. They must be capable of working independently but will receive support from senior clinicians.
