Job summary
The Community Connexions Programme is a new public engagement initiative and we are looking for a vibrant, enthusiastic and experienced candidate to lead this work. It is essential that the post holder has previous experience of community engagement, project management and time management. The candidate will need expertise in engaging with academic partners, clinical and non-clinical researchers, other healthcare providers, Community, Voluntary, Faith and Social Enterprise sectors (CVFSE) and local citizens. We are looking for an individual who has a proven track record in engaging and working with the diverse and underserved groups of Birmingham and Solihull. Healthcare experience is also desirable..
This is a new area of work for Birmingham Community Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust led by the Research and Innovation team. All activity will be led by an evidence based approach, the role will require research knowledge, grant writing experience with expertise in public health. Significant knowledge of the latest initiatives e.g. Core 20+5 and knowledge of regional health inequalities is important. The successful candidate should also be extremely organised, able to work systematically with exemplary administration skills and team leadership skills.
Main duties of the job
The key responsibilities for the post holder would include co-design, development and implementation of projects and initiatives, building engagement to facilitate research, to support community engagement work across various divisions of the Trust, building relationships & network directory. However, a knowledge and understanding of the clinical services and research process would be advantageous. In addition to research and innovation requirements, the role will also support the trust-wide strategy e.g tackling health inequalities and developing one front door for engagement at BCHC. This role will build on existing relationships to support ongoing work and also support new projects.
They will be responsible for developing and implementing a programme of work to provide opportunities for local people to be empowered and involved in the development and improvement of our healthcare services and ensure that they have a voice in decision-making. They will act as the key point of contact in the organisation for best-practice engagement
