Are you interested/passionate about education, teaching and development of staff. An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the professional lead nursing team in the BCHC Children and Families Division. You will be responsible for organising, delivering and evaluating specialist training to a range of staff across the 0-19 clinical group and Birmingham Forward Steps (BFS) partnership.

Main duties of the job

o To ensure that staff are competent to meet the skills required for delivery of the Healthy child programme, mandatory training and role specific training needs to meet the service delivery model for children and families.

Maintain accurate training data

Utilises competency frameworks to evaluate and provide feedback on skills and knowledge development

o Liaise and communicate with staff to encourage uptake of training and sign off of competencies.

To organise and deliver specialist training to a range of staff. This will include theoretical training and practical demonstrations.

o Develop and review guidance, newsletters and training packages for Health staff.

Advise and support 0-19 staff in developing and regularly reviewing policies and procedures.

Contributes to practice related improvement plans to enable learners to achieve the required standard of proficiency.

o Working within the NMC code of professional conduct: standards for conduct, performance and ethics, exercising professional accountability at all times.

o Reporting back to the Deputy professional lead any identified concerns.

o Managing own time and prioritising own workload.

To work within 0-19 service providing specialist training, advice, and support to staff within the 0-19 services. This will ensure that staff are competent to meet the skills required for delivery of the Healthy child programme, mandatory Training and role specific training needs to meet the service delivery model for children and families.

To undertake individual training appropriate to the grade and as identified at appraisal.

The post holder must be proficient with Microsoft office.

To undertake other duties commensurate with this grade of post in agreement with the relevant line manager.
