Job summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Paediatric Dentistry team in BCHC as a locum consultant. The post is to cover short term leave in the team and will support service delivery. The job will mainly be based at Birmingham Dental Hospital, Dental Outreach Clinics and Community Dental Service across Birmingham and Black Country.
Main duties of the job
The priority for this post is the provision of a Paediatric Dentistry Consultant Service for patients referred from hospital colleagues, general medical and dental practitioners and colleagues within BCHC.
The post will promote the provision of a more seamless paediatric dental service across the primary and secondary care boundary.
The post holder will also be required to support development of the community paediatric dental service and colleagues within the department. The post holder will be involved in undergraduate teaching to dentists and therapists and also support the post graduate specialist paediatric training.

- oFull registration with the United Kingdom General Dental Council (GDC)
- oOn the GDC Specialist Register in Paediatric Dentistry
- oIntercollegiate Specialty Fellowship Examination in Paediatric Dentistry or equivalent
- oSuccessful completion of ISFE examination or equivalent or be in the final 6 months of training at the time of application.

- oSuccessful completion of an SAC-approved 5-year minimum training programme in Paediatric Dentistry, or within 6 months of completion, or equivalent
