Job summary
An opportunity has arisen for a nurse/therapist to improve the quality of life for people affected with lymphoedema/chronic oedema by joining the innovative Birmingham Lymphoedema team.
You must be highly motivated, have the ability to work unsupervised and be able to demonstrate excellent communication skills and leadership ability, as you will be assisting in service development within your area and education.
You will need to gain excellent skills to provide high quality care for individual patients and will utilise time management and organisational skills to contribute to the provision and smooth running of a high-quality city wide lymphoedema service.
Main duties of the job
The BCHC Lymphoedema Service covers Birmingham, Sandwell, and Solihull patients; the nurse/therapist will be required to travel and work in all areas and therefore it is important that this person is a car driver.
We are looking for an enthusiastic Band 5 or 6 nurse/therapist, with Wound care/Lymphoedema/Oncology/District/Acute nurse/therapist experience, to work in both an outpatient and community setting across 4 clinics.
A prescribing qualification would be desirable but is not essential as obtaining this qualification would form part of the role. This post offers the opportunity for a nurse/therapist to gain education, training, knowledge, and skills in lymphoedema management which can then be developed and utilised within the vast clinical setting of BCHC.
