Birmingham Community Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust (BCHC) has an exciting 9 month secondment opportunity for a Ward Sister/Charge Nurse position on Willow House, an 18 bedded unit providing specialist Palliative and End of Life care to adults.

We are looking for a highly driven nurse who is enthusiastic and motivated to work as a key leader within our multidisciplinary team ensuring patients receive outstanding care.

Main duties of the job

As a Band 6 Nurse on the unit you will be responsible for leading a safe shift offering the Registered Nurses, Nursing Associates, Students and Healthcare Assistants advice and support to care for their patients alongside the other disciplines within our integrated MDT. You will also be required to manage a team and ensure their PDRs, mandatory training and sickness management is kept up to date.

You will also be responsible for ensuring continuous improvement, learning from incidents/complaints and driving up standards by improving results and compliance with clinical audits.

If you have previous experience of working with palliative and end of life patients, excellent communication skills, the ability to teach, motivate and influence your team, and you wish to develop your Managerial and Leadership skills as a Band 6 Sister/ Charge Nurse, we would like to hear from you.
