The Resuscitation Trainer post is an opportunity to join the Birmingham Community Health Care NHS Foundation Trust Resuscitation Team on a part-time 0.6wte (22.5hours/week, Wed-Fri) basis.
The post is positioned within the Corporate Directorate, and is part of the Learning and Development Team. This is an excellent opportunity for a clinician who is experienced and driven to develop their own skills further whilst also making a major contribution to the development of the clinical workforce and ensuring patient safety is maintained.
Main duties of the job
The purpose of the post is to support the team in the delivery of high quality resuscitation training across the Trust to all clinical staff groups. The successful candidate will be working with the Resuscitation Team to deliver Adult Basic Life Support (BLS), Paediatric Basic Life Support (PCPR), Immediate Life Support (ILS), Dental Immediate Life Support (DILS), Acute Illness Management (AIM) training as well as potential involvement in audit, site visits, equipment inspection and reporting on findings .

- Responsible for assisting with the design and delivery of hospital and community Basic Life Support (BLS) and Paediatric Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (PCPR) training for staff according to the Trust Training Needs Analysis and Resuscitation Policy. Ensuring that the resuscitation courses taught meet the criteria set by the Resuscitation Council (UK) guidelines and the Skill for Health competency framework.
- Support the delivery of Immediate Life Support training as required.
- Assist in the development and delivery of associated training programmes e.g. acute illness management training (AIMs), anaphylaxis, emergency oxygen through the use of workshops and teaching sessions in both group and one to one situations (utilising but not exclusively limited to the use of a pc, laptop, projector, flipchart, practical demonstration and group work to facilitate learning).
- Ensure that accurate training records are returned to Learning and Development within the required timeframe of the training being delivered.
- Assist the Trust Resuscitation Officer in delivering scenario-based training for teams within their working environment, utilising feedback and debrief as a learning platform.
