An exciting opportunity has arisen to the join the trust in a newly-created role that brings together the production of the trust's annual financial plan, the maintenance of the long-term financial model, and the co-ordination, consolidation and reporting of the trust's year-to-date and forecast financial position, both internally and externally.
The role would suit someone who thrives in a dynamic and sometimes fast-paced environment, as a quick and accurate response to external requests for information is often required.
The successful candidate will be a CCAB qualified accountant (or equivalent), with advanced knowledge of Excel and the ability to produce high-quality data analysis, as well as being able to communicate complex information to senior staff, including those without a finance background.
This post will provide the successful applicant with a high profile within the organisation, working directly with the CFO and his deputies, as well as other senior managers across the trust and colleagues working across the Birmingham and Solihull ICB.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will ensure that that high quality reporting and planning support is provided at all times to Executive Directors and the Chief Finance Officer.
In year, the post holder is responsible for
- Production of the trusts annual finance plan.
- The organisation, challenge, operation, consolidation, and reporting of the monthly financial position of the Trust via timely meetings with the Deputy Chief Finance Officer (operational), Deputy Chief Finance Officer (corporate) and their senior managers.
- The timely and accurate completion and submission of the Trust's monthly financial monitoring returns (PFRs) to ICB and NHSE/DHSC
- Overseeing the monthly consolidation of reporting to Trust Board and NHSE, ensuring timely and appropriately detailed analysis is available to the Deputy Directors of Finance and Chief Financial Officer.
- Responsible for the production and maintenance of the Trust Long Term Financial Model.
- Responsible for the oversight of Trust level forecasting
- Completion of the Annual corporate cost return

Mobility
Whilst the postholder will be based at Priestley Wharf this is a Trust wide appointment and travel around the Trust may be required.
