Job summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen for two highly motivated, enthusiastic, skilled, and innovative individuals to join the Finance Directorate as Directorate Accountants. One post will be supporting the Children and Families division and the other post will be supporting Adults Community Services Division. The two Divisions are one of constant change and progression which keeps the roles interesting and rewarding, providing opportunities to develop your skills across a number of areas within finance and the wider divisions plus other support functions to further develop your commercial awareness.

The role of Directorate Accountant (Band 7) will be based at Priestly Wharf on a hybrid model with a blend of office based on site, and remote working. You will work with the relevant Divisional Finance manager and the wider finance team to lead financial and performance management services across the Trust.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will provide an excellent financial management services to support the Divisional Finance Manager and other members of the divisional management team in achieving Trust organisation targets and departmental objectives.

The post holder will provide senior support and deputise for, when required, the Divisional Finance Manager and Deputy Finance Director in ensuring that high quality business information and financial management support is provided at all times to managers within the Directorate.

The post holder will ensure that a professional and dynamic service is provided to the Directorate Management Team, individual budget holders, and other relevant officers within the trust.

The post holder will have responsibility for ensuring that management information produced supports the processes of financial reporting and budgetary control and is accurate, timely and in accordance with the Trusts Standing Financial Instructions, Financial Management Policy and relevant NHS guidelines.

  • Qualified/Finalist CCAB, or considerable NHS experience.
  • CPD registered if qualified.
