Job summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen in BCHC, for a band 5 nurses to work in our nurse led nocturnal enuresis service. We offer support and treatment to children, young people and their families who have nocturnal enuresis using NICE guidance. The successful candidates will need to have experience of working with children and young people.
Birmingham Community Healthcare Trust is committed to service user involvement and so young people are often involved in the recruitment of staff working with children and young people. Main duties of the job
The successful candidates will need to have excellent communication and interpersonal skills when working with children, young people, their families and professionals. They will be able to work well within a team and have an excellent understanding of how to support children and young people who have nocturnal enuresis. They will possess understanding of safeguarding and knowledge of the health needs of the children and communities in which they will work. They will also need good IT skills to make effective use of our mobile working technology and IT systems.

To be responsible for the organisation of enuresis clinics.
To assess referrals to the enuresis service and liaise with referrers as appropriate.
To work as a member of the enuresis service undertaking enuresis assessments and planning care to meet identified needs. Deliver care as planned and evaluate the effectiveness of interventions.
To engage in multi-agency working as appropriate.
To carry out home visits, as required.
To attend and participate in staff meetings and other meetings as directed.
To work to Birmingham Safeguarding Children Board policies and procedures.
To adhere to BCHC record keeping guidelines covering paper and electronic records including entering information onto the Trust data collection systems.
To mentor and assess pre registration student nurses on placement with the team.
To support the induction of new members of staff in the team.
To work to Birmingham Community Healthcare NHS Trust policies, protocols, procedures and guidelines.
The post holder must be familiar with Microsoft outlook, word and excel.
To participate in clinical audit as required..
To participate in the appraisal process, completing mandatory training and any other training identified as essential to role.
To work in schools and community settings to deliver accessible services.
To work flexibly including occasional weekends and evenings (up to 7pm) to meet service needs.
