Birmingham Community Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust (BCHC) have vacancies for motivated, resourceful, forward thinkingRespiratory Physiotherapists for flexible working in our Children's Rapid Response Service via Temporary Staffing.
This service works in close collaboration with the Community Children Nursing (CCN) and Palliative Care team: the team's aim is to prevent and reduce hospital attendances/admissions and length of stay for children known to the teams.
The emphasis of the service is to improve the quality of life for children and families with life limiting, palliative or complex healthcare needs, offering them greater choice around their chosen place of care.
We are looking for an experienced children's respiratory physiotherapists that holds the Independent Non-Medical Prescribing qualification or willingness to work towards this.
If you are enthusiastic, dynamic and motivated to provide expert clinical care and advice to children and families with complex heath care needs in their own home and looking for flexible working, this could be the role for you.
Main duties of the job
You must have the ability to prioritise your workload using advanced assessment skills with the ability to provide a symptom management plan of care to children/young people during times of acute deterioration or illness.
For the future development of this evolving service, you will be required to support the Clinical Lead, developing clinical pathways across acute and primary care settings, as well as implementing a service providing specialist physiotherapy skill, knowledge and expertise to a designated caseload of children and young people with complex respiratory needs, as part of the Rapid Response team.
You will work directly with specialist nurses from the Community Children's and Palliative Care Nursing services, led by a Clinical Nurse Lead, as well as working independently to carry out home/community visits as part of a team to enable families to care for children at home during crises, and reducing disruption to family life aiming to prevent A&E visits and hospital admissions where possible.
