Main duties of the job
Health Care Support Worker - Band 3
Archer ward is a 20 bedded ward which provides holistic person centred care that enables individuals to increase independence, improve health outcomes and reduce unnecessary admissions to secondary Care or long term care. This is achieved through timely interventions, rehabilitation, management of long term and limiting conditions and partnership working across the health and social care community.
We also have Palliative Care Beds for people at the end of life by providing holistic person countered care which includes symptom management and the provision of psychological, social, spiritual and practical support.
All staff within the service work in collaboration with the patient, their carer and other statutory and voluntary organisations and agencies.
You must have excellent interpersonal and communication skills, be highly motivated and positive in your approach to care delivery to ensure we maintain a high quality service delivery to our patients.

Qualifications
Essential
- Vocational Level 3 in a relevant subject or equivalent experience
- Experience and/ or knowledge of delivering care or working in a care setting.
- Minimum Level 2 GCSE level English and Maths or equivalent and possesses a fundamental level of ICT skills.
- Commitment to Continuous Professional Development (CPD) and lifelong learning with the ability and willingness to undertake competency-based training both initially and as ongoing requirement for the post to meet service requirements.
- Evidence of the Care Certificate or Commitment to achieve on joining the trust.
Desirable
- Typing/word processing skills or qualification.
- Evidence of related training
- Understanding of the Code of Conduct for Health Care Support Workers and Adult Social Care Workers in England
Previous experience
Essential
- Previous experience of working in care evironment
- Clinical experience in a healthcare setting undertaking a range of delegated clinical tasks supporting patients.
Desirable
- Previous experience working in a team in a heath care setting.
- Knowledge and experience of NHS IT systems/applications.
- Experience of rotational shift patterns, to include days and nights.

- Knowledge of observing, monitoring and recording patient activity and health status

- Knowledge of the Trust's Values expressed in the LCHS Way.
