Job summary

This is a key leadership role in the Trust working for the Group Chief Nurse as a key member of the senior nursing and midwifery team. The post holder will be responsible with the Deputy Chief Nurse for the development of an effective framework to enable the delivery of nursing, services aligned to the Group Strategy within Lincolnshire Community Hospital Group

The post holder will be highly visible, senior individual who provides assurance in collaboration with the Deputy Chief Nursing to the Board. They will be an effective and visible leader who will enable the organisation to continuously improve its performance in relation to nursing practice.

The post holder will ensure the Trust has a comprehensive and progressive nursing framework for the Community and sufficiently robust systems of internal control, that ensure the Trust consistently delivers on its integration improvement plan to Board.

The post holder will work in collaboration with the Deputy Chief Nurse and the Chief Nurse to be the public face of nursing and will be responsible for the production and delivery of our Group strategy

  • Current NMC registration first level Registered Nurse
  • Clinical or management qualification to degree level or equivalent portfolio to support function at this level
  • Relevant Master's degree or equivalent or portfolio of evidence to support function at this level Post basic qualification in management or leadership equivalent portfolio to support function at this level
  • Recent relevant experience at a senior level in a nursing environment
  • Evidence of system leadership / ability to demonstrate a successful track record of strong influencing skills to embed sustainable improvements in the delivery of safe, high quality healthcare

Desirable

  • Project management qualification
  • Further relevant postgraduate development to diploma or equivalent
  • ECDL or equivalent

Experience

  • Effective clinical / operational management at senior management level or equivalent
  • Experience of successfully building effective working relationships with clinicians and managers in order to effectively run operational services
  • Previous senior level experience in resource management
  • Successful change management
  • Relevant experience of involvement in setting and achieving strategic organisational objectives
  • Experience of initiating quality improvement programmes underpinned by robust evidence based methodology
