Main duties of the job
The Butterfly Hospice provide high quality, person centred care. We are looking for an enthusiastic registered nurse to become part of our dedicated and supportive team.
Successful applicants will be responsible for all aspects of patient care throughout their stay at The Butterfly Hospice. You will use a computerised record keeping system to contribute towards the care planning and setting individual patient goals. You will have the opportunity to link in with the wider MDT to ensure patients are receiving appropriate treatment and, where appropriate, assist with successful discharge planning.
Experience of working at a band 5 level and caring for patients with palliative or end of life needs is essential to this role. The post holder should have experience in supporting patients and their carers with complex physical and psychological needs.
The post holder is responsible for the assessment, planning and delivery of care which is underpinned by evidence based practice. A felxible approach is needed to manage the challenges of palliative and end of life care, with a willingness to respond to the changing needs of patients.
The successful applicant required to work flexibly on an internal shift rotation, working both days and nights over a seven day period, including bank holidays. In return you will receive enhanced payments for working unsocial hours, a generous holiday entitlement and pension scheme.
Experience of working within palliative care is essential.
