Occupational Therapist

Information:

This job is now closed

Job summary

An exciting opportunity for a dynamic and motivated occupational therapist to join First Coastal Primary Care Network has arisen. Due to recent restructuring and joining of GP practices, First Coastal is able to grow its existing team focusing on the rural division. The occupational therapist in Primary Care is a developing role nationwide and provides the opportunity to use advanced clinical skills to benefit patients.

In order to strengthen and deepen the Primary Care offer government policy has enabled Primary Care Networks (PCN) to recruit Occupational Therapists directly. This role will entail working for First Coastal PCN on contract from LCHS. This will ensure the successful candidate has full access to clinical supervision and professional development within LCHS as well as being a seamless partner to wider Trust therapy services.

Main duties of the job

As the successful candidate, your role will include providing occupational therapy interventions to a mainly older person demographic in the community and in care homes.

You will join an established team of occupational therapists, physiotherapists, care coordinators to provide rehabilitation and frailty assessment to our patients to encourage them to be as independent as possible and to support them with problem solving any barriers they face when trying to achieve this.

You will hold your own caseload and be an autonomous worker, being able to decide how to arrange your day whilst having a good support network around you.

You will be provided with time to undertake a preceptorship programme if applicable and to complete training appropriate to the role both internally and externally.

You will be encouraged to develop whilst in this role as we like to 'grow our own' and this will be discussed with your during your supervisions and appraisals.

About us

Lincolnshire Community Health Services NHS Trust is in the top 25 per cent of all community trusts for overall staff engagement in the 2021 NHS National Staff Survey.

At LCHS, we know diversity fosters creativity and innovation. We are committed to equality of opportunity, to being fair and inclusive, and to being a place where all belong. We therefore particularly encourage applications from candidates who are likely to be underrepresented in LCHS' workforce.

LCHS recognises the increasing demand for more flexibility in working practices in order to accommodate the personal goals and commitments that employees experience at different stages during their working lives. Flexible working opportunities such as part-time working, compressed hours, job shares, and hybrid working models can help staff to balance their personal and work commitments. Arrangements can be put in place if it can be shown that the needs of the individual can be balanced with those of the service and the impact on other team members, enabling the Trust to recruit and retain skilled staff, raise staff morale, reduce absenteeism and respond to changing service needs more effectively.

We are an ambassador of a learning culture that will support the right individual to progress in their chosen career through an 'earn while you learn' apprenticeship programme.
