Job summary

An exciting opportunity for a dynamic and motivated occupational therapist to join First Coastal Primary Care Network has arisen. Due to recent restructuring and joining of GP practices, First Coastal is able to grow its existing team focusing on the rural division. The occupational therapist in Primary Care is a developing role nationwide and provides the opportunity to use advanced clinical skills to benefit patients.

In order to strengthen and deepen the Primary Care offer government policy has enabled Primary Care Networks (PCN) to recruit Occupational Therapists directly. This role will entail working for First Coastal PCN on contract from LCHS. This will ensure the successful candidate has full access to clinical supervision and professional development within LCHS as well as being a seamless partner to wider Trust therapy services.

Main duties of the job

Occupational Therapy in Primary Care is a developing role nationwide. It brings the unique skills OT possess closer to the patient who may see a person in place of a GP appointment or the patient may move from a GP appointment to the OT. The successful candidate will take up a role that enables them to provide OT care at an Advanced Practice level and an opportunity to develop a role that can evolve to meet the needs of the local population.

This is a fantastic opportunity to develop as an Occupational Therapist and deliver OT in its purest form. Influencing the development and provision of health care services both locally and countywide.

First Coastal PCN covers a population of approximately 84,000 patients this is made up of seven practices, Marsico Medical Practice (Mablethorpe), Hawthorn Medical Practice (Skegness), Beacon Medical Practice (Skegness), Merton Lodge (Alford), Spilsby Surgery, Stickney Surgery and Old Leake Medical Practice. These practices work together across coastal and rural to deliver care to the local population.
