Job summary
This is a great opportunity to work in this pivotal role within the People Team at Hertfordshire Community NHS Trust. As the People Manager you will be part of the Senior Management People Team which will require you to ensure the delivery of professional, high quality expertise and advice on complex employee relations support and change management issues to a designated portfolio of Trust services. This will include advising on the workforce implications of new service models and supporting preparatory work on responses to bids/tenders.
Main duties of the job
As the successful candidate, you will be expected to work closely with the People Business Partners and managers in aligned services, providing expertise and training in the full range of People processes to ensure the business unit needs are met.
You will understand the contractual arrangements for the services and work to the prescribed workforce service specification and KPIs. Provide high level expertise and guidance on complex people issues, making judgements based on legislation, organisational precedent and best practice approaches.
You will provide support to managers on change management processes and TUPE transfers in line with legislation and best practice and take the lead on complex employee relation cases, including advising managers on investigations, sitting on panels and supporting appeals.
This role is responsible for the leadership and management to the Senior People Adviser(s) and Apprentice (where applicable), ensuring they are supported, appraised, valued, developed and challenged, in line with HCT's employment policies and procedures.

- Sound IT literacy, including all Microsoft applications, email, development of intranet, internet use
- Experience of maintaining and updating information systems and producing reports

- Hold a full, valid, UK driving licence and have access to a car to use for business purposes (unless you have a disability as defined by the Equality Act 2010).
