Job summary
We have an exciting opportunity for the right candidate to join East and North Herts Podiatry Team as a Podiatry Assistant.
The successful candidate will work within East and North Herts providing footcare to a dedicated caseload of patients referred by a podiatrist.
They will also assist the podiatrists working in Multi-disciplinary foot clinics and when performing nail surgery.
The service is delivered in Community Clinics, Health Centres and Acute and Community Hospital Sites. The successful candidate will be expected to work at a range of agreed clinical sites within East and North Hertfordshire.
Main duties of the job
To provide footcare to a delegated caseload
To implement individualised treatment programs for identified patients living within east and North Hertfordshire that meet the service access criteria but that do not need podiatry treatment.
To ensure the smooth running of multi-disciplinary clinics and ward rounds.
To assist during nail surgery.
To provide appropriate education to patients and carers to assist with the delivery of their treatment program and to empower the patient to participate in their self-care.
To provide appropriate administrative duties including completion of the clinical record, clinical monitoring and ordering of stock and supplies, and to ensure patients views are recorded via comment cards and patient surveys.
The successful candidate will be supported to complete the senior Healthcare Support Worker, Level 3 on the apprenticeship programme if appropriate.
