Job summary

The Hertfordshire Children and Young People's Continence service are recruiting a band 6 continence nurse to join our passionate team for a 9 month fixed term secondment cover.

The service is based at Peace children's centre in Watford but runs nurse led clinics across Hertfordshire. The service operates Monday to Friday 9-5 with the option of condensed days 8-6 . Flexible and part time working will also be considered.

Main duties of the job

The service provides tier 2 continence support with the aim to

  • Reduce the incidence of continence issues through effective, evidence-based treatment and education, ensuring the service is delivered to the highest standards of care and management.

Improve the quality of life for children, young people and their families/carers. Fundamental to this is the preservation of dignity, self-esteem and independence.

  • Ensure patients have the appropriate type and allocation of continence products to meet their clinal need
  • Provide training and education to other health, professionals, patients and carers on the promotion of continence and the management of bladder and bowel dysfunction
