Job summary

Are you an enthusiastic dietitian with an interest in working with adults in the community setting?

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a motivated and dynamic dietitian, to join the community team at Hertfordshire Community NHS Trust (HCT) in South and West Herts Intermediate Care team as part of the Integrated Nutrition and Dietetics Service and is split between the dietetic care of home visits, clinics, care homes and home enteral feeding depending on the needs of the service. This band 6 post will be based Sandridge Gate Business Centre in St. Albans and is part time at 1 WTE.

We are looking for a motivated, enthusiastic dietitian open to innovation, with excellent communication and team working skills to join our team of dietitians who work across Hertfordshire. The post holder will work in collaboration with a variety of professionals, community staff and care agencies.

This post joins a larger team of dietitians working across Hertfordshire within a number of specialities including paediatrics, neurology, home enteral feeding and diabetes. We work in collaboration with a number of other Trusts and stakeholders providing aspects of dietetic care topatients within Hertfordshire. As part of our service we work in conjunction with our partners Hertfordshire Independent Living Service and Age UK Hertfordshire with a focus on care home education and tackling the social causes of malnutrition.

We can offer you 5% of basic salary subject to a minimum payment of £1,769 and a maximum payment of £2,011 per annum (pro rata)

Main duties of the job

The role includes inpatient work including experience in the following areas:

  • Outpatient clinics (face to face and virtual)
  • Home enteral feeding
  • Home visits and care homes
  • Mentorship of dietetic apprenticeship roles
  • Group education

You must hold a full valid driving licence and access to a car to use regularly for business purposes is essential (unless you have a disability as defined by the Equality Act 2010).

In addition to the basic salary, this post attracts a High Cost Area Supplement of 5% of basic salary subject to a minimum and a maximum payment per annum, pro rata where applicable.
