Job summary
The North Hertfordshire and Stevenage school nursing team are looking for a dynamic and motivated Nursing associate or a Nursery Nurse to join our friendly and forward thinking team.
This post is suitable for a newly qualified Associate Public Health Practitioner and we would also consider Nursery Nurses who have an interest in, or previous experience of school nursing.
Our service:
- Is committed to delivering a high quality service to our children and families as an integrated model with Family Support Services
- Works with individual children and young people on developing local public health plans with schools and the wider community
- Is an innovative service that embraces the use of technology
- Delivers the Healthy Child Programme by using an electronic health needs assessment process to identify individuals requiring early intervention pathways
- Uses Chat health text messaging service
- Has implemented two health websites for use by children, young people, families & professionals.
We are looking for a candidate to help support and deliver the Healthy Child Programme. We deliver support, and packages of care to children and young people within the school setting and therefore ideally you would be able to drive, have access to a car, and be willing to travel across Hertfordshire.
Main duties of the job
The successful candidate will:
- Be a confident, independent practitioner in emotional wellbeing working 1:1 with children and young people or in group sessions.
- Be a skilled team player in emotional wellbeing
- Have excellent communication skills to use with a variety of clients, professionals & staff
- Have experience of electronic record keeping (this would be an advantage although full training will be given)
- Have a full valid driving license and access to a car to use for business purposes is essential (unless you have a disability as defined by the Equality Act 2010).
