Job summary

We are seeking to appoint a Senior Positive Behaviour Analyst to work in a new Sensory Service and PALMS (Positive, behaviour, Autism, Learning disability, Mental health Service) who is a motivated and forward thinking clinician and leader who can work flexibly and is committed to supporting CYP and their families across Hertfordshire.

Due to additional investment into Hertfordshire's Children and Young People's Integrated Therapy Service (CYPT), we have an exciting new 3- tiered sensory service to support neurodivergent children and young people (CYP).

This is an exciting time for Hertfordshire as we grow our support offer to provide specialist services to meet the sensory needs of CYP. As a team we are aligned to the Children and Young People's Specialist Services Directorate and work closely with our CYPT service and system partners including voluntary sector organisations, mental health services, social care and education.

Main duties of the job

The ideal candidate will be:

Passionate about and have a desire to contribute to change in a vibrant NHS team
Dedicated to supporting CYP with sensory difficulties, autism and/or learning disability, and their families.
Collaborative in their approach to work with families, networks, and others services
Able to work both in a team environment and autonomously

This permanent position is based in Hertfordshire, we have a number of bases including Stevenage, QEII Hospital, Peace Children Centre and can be flexible with your choice of base. The successful candidate is expected to work across locations in Hertfordshire to meet service needs and demands.

Professional knowledge acquired through degree supplemented by post graduate diploma specialist training, experience, short courses plus further specialist training to masters equivalent level

To be a highly skilled communicator who can share information sensitively to a variety of people including, children, young people and their families, support staff and other professionals
To be able to evaluate and make appropriate clinical decisions, taking into consideration the holistic view of the child and family, whilst using sound theoretical and developmental frameworks
Identify the mental health needs of the CYP and signpost appropriately.
Provide leadership to the teams and deliver clinical supervision and line management to other colleagues as appropriate.

Desirable

Assist in clinically related administration, conduct audits and research projects, collect and analyse service data, develop databases, and to participate in teaching and project work
