Job summary
The Musculoskeletal (MSK) Service is responsible for providing a high standard of comprehensive data and administrative support to ensure effective delivery of clinic services to patients and clinical staff which fall within the MSK remit of Hertfordshire Community NHS Trust.
The post holder will be required to work alongside other team members and clinical staff to receive and support patient referral progression in line with the specific clinical pathways and Trust protocol agreed within the service.
The ideal candidate will be expected to work well within teams and with autonomy using initiative to achieve service requirements and deadlines with minimum supervision.
In addition, the post holder will act as a point of contact for patient queries and ensure patient confidentiality is maintained at all times In line with expectation and Trust policy
The post holder will be aligned with the MSK Triage Service however, will also be supportive of MSK Hand Therapy & MSK ACTIVATE for Chronic Fatigue & Persistent Pain Management for which travel allowance will be provided.
A full valid driving licence and access to a car to use regularly for business purposes is essential (unless you have a disability as defined by the Equality Act 2010).
Main duties of the job
MSK Clinic Co-ordinator:
- Manage patient referrals received into the service via the electronic referral system (eRS).
- Manage the specific service generic e-mails, responding to all communication appropriately and in line with the Trust pathways.
- Set up and manage diary ledger using computerised SystmOne (S1) appropriately.
- Ensure all new and follow-up appointment slots are booked appropriately and monitored on a daily basis.
- Manage patient waiting lists on S1, prioritising patients as directed by the Operational and Clinical Lead.
- Send out appropriate letters using S1 to patients regarding appointments.
- Monitor waiting lists to ensure there are no breaches, alerting operational and clinical leads to any potential breaches.
- Ensure all DNA patients are appropriately recorded and discharged from S1.
- Support Clinical staff with IT related issues.
- Act as the point of contact for calls into the service, support the customer service hub with queries.
- Manage priorities for work and to plan and organise work efficiently and effectively.
- To input all relevant patient data onto computer using S1.
- Support the MSK Operations Support Manager to investigate and complaints.
- To be responsible for the day to day support of local clinic activity.
- Record clinical staff absence on e-roster.
- Support the local clinics with arranging mandatory and group training courses.
