Job summary
This is an
exciting role withinthe Older Adult Mental Health Inpatient Service based
at New Haven in Bromsgrove. As a Deputy Ward
Manager you will work closely with the other Ward/Team Managers within the OAMH
Inpatient pathway.
Your role is to ensure patient care is of the highest standards, you
will always act as a role model and use your initiative to maintain quality and
safety.
Alongside the current management team you will assist in supporting and
educating staff. You will have
responsibility for the operational and clinical day to day management of the
ward.
We are looking to recruit motivated individuals with a passion for
older adult mental health and a commitment to support continually improving
quality.
We can offer up to 37.5 hours a week. Our
working patterns are 3-4 long days/ night (07:30-20:00/19:30-08:00) across a
four week period including weekends and bank holidays.
Main duties of the job
- Leadership and management skills
- Knowledge of operational procedures as well as clinical

- Assessment and Management of risk
- Effective assessment through SBAR and care planning
- Delegation and shift management
- Ensuring safer staffing levels are maintained for the wards
- Reviewing incidents (Ulysses) and provide appropriate and constructive
feedback to staff.
- Participate in clinical and managerial audits
- Provide management supervision
- Ability to manage and support staff during difficult situations and
escalate to ward manager/ service lead as appropriate.
