Job summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Occupational Therapist to join our Rehabilitation team at Cromwell house, a 10-bed Rehabilitation ward. We are looking for a Band 6 Specialist Mental Health Occupational Therapist to join our multi-disciplinary team.
As a Band 6 Specialist Mental Health Occupational Therapist , you will working closely with our Band 3 Occupational Therapy Assistants to provide specialist/complex Occupational Therapy Assessments and interventions to our patients.
As a team you will contribute to a structured Therapeutic Programme alongside other professionals, with a combination of groups and individual sessions to enhance our service delivery, to ensure we provide equity for all patients across a range of therapy pathways including Functional/Physical Health/Cognitive/Sensory/Vocational.
Working together as a team in this way, will ensure we deliver high quality therapeutic care to patients who are experiencing deterioration in their mental health. The remit of the team is to provide a range of occupational focused therapeutic interventions to support the patient journey of recovery from admission through to discharge.
Cromwell house has a number of projects focusing on clinical leadership, operational management and strategic planning which will offer many opportunities for professional development. The ward continues to strive for clinical excellence, currently working toward re-validation of AIMS accreditation.
Main duties of the job
This role will take a strong clinical focus on the ward to support the maintenance of quality and leadership for patient experiences. The role is not included within clinical shifts and the patterns of working will be Monday-Friday. This post is 15 hours per week over 2 days.
You will be expected to deliver high quality treatment programmes that support recovery of working age adults, who experience severe and enduring mental health challenges.
You must be good at working with others to support patients' recovery journey through delegating tasks to members of the team, as well as enhancing others skills, competencies and confidence.
You will demonstrate and promote our trust values and leadership behaviours in every aspect of what you do, and this will be demonstrated through the leadership and daily support to your patients, your Occupational Therapy colleagues and wider MDT.
You will get a full induction to the site and service. You will get access to monthly supervision from an Occupational Therapist plus peer supervision and be encouraged to develop and enhance your skills through in-service training.
