Job summary

We currently have vacancies for new night care packages across Worcestershire, full training and support will be provided.

As a Home Support Worker you will be delivering care to children or young people within the home environment. This involves being trained to competently deliver specialist care procedures, e.g. tracheostomy care, home ventilation, enteral feeding dependant on individual needs.

We have various night hours available (minimum of 20 hours per week), to work flexibly over 7 days per week.

We are looking for committed people to work within our dedicated Home Support Team who provide essential complex health care to children, young people, and their families.

This is an opportunity to really make a difference to the lives of children, young people and their family by providing clinical care within the home setting. This is predominantly night working (various hours) with flexibility to work day hours for training.

Main duties of the job

You will work as part of a multi-disciplinary team involved in the assessment and care of children with complex nursing needs. View a short video of Polly attached.

You will communicate at an appropriate level for individual children, young people and their carers.

Undertake nursing duties, as agreed with the Orchard Service who are responsible for the child/ young person. This may include ventilation, tracheostomy, enteral feeding etc.

Receive training to understand individual plans of care to ensure appropriate action is taken in the event of a change in condition or problem occurring.

Assist with the personal care and comfort of the child and to maintain the child`s dignity and privacy at all times. Assist in maintaining a safe environment for the child, family/carers and staff, including safe use of equipment.
