Job summary
Herefordshire and Worcestershire Health and Care Trust seek applications for a 0.6 WTE Consultant in Sexual and Reproductive Health, (some degree of flexibility around number of sessions possible, can be discussed) working as part of an integrated dynamic team, Worcestershire Integrated Sexual Health (WISH) across Worcestershire.
The successful candidate will deliver specialist Sexual and Reproductive health services including early medical abortion.
The service runs from three newly refurbished clinic hubs in Worcester, Redditch, and Kidderminster. The base will be discussed and confirmed at interview. Within the team there is another part time Consultant in SRH and two Consultants n Sexualh health and HIV.
Candidates should be on the GMC Specialist Register or be within six months of CCT at date of interview

Main duties of the job
Provide a complex contraception service, a high-quality service in all aspects of contraception and sexual health, including counselling and provision of all methods of contraception, including complex LARC.
Provision and involvement in management of our in-house pregnancy advisory and early medical abortion service, including referral to outside agencies, where necessary.
Lead on the SRH governance provision of guidelines /governance framework for monitoring and improving practice.
Provide professional training, designing, and updating care pathways and developing new services.
STI diagnosis and management, including HIV diagnosis and STI prevention including HIV to the population of Worcestershire.
This will include the adoption and maintenance of best practice guidelines as laid out by the FSRH, RCOG, BASHH, BHIVA and NICE and to continue to enhance the service profile and engagement with local, regional and national colleagues, groups and networks, including commissioners.
Provision of clinic advice and support requested by our staff and other primary, secondary and tertiary care services including community pharmacies. We contract Emergency hormonal contraception (EHC) provision from community pharmacies as well as Long Acting Reversible Contraception (LARC) from primary Care. This provision does include a consultant on call service until 8pm at night and at weekends.
