We provide a specialist Inpatient service for adults with mental health needs across 3 inpatient wards. We are looking for you to join our teams at our adult acute wards.

Holt is an acute admission and treatment ward based in Worcester providing inpatient care and Hadley is a psychiatric intensive care unit caring for those who are not able to be managed within the acute admission wards. The patient group for Worcestershire is diverse and encompasses a broad spectrum of needs and illnesses.

Main duties of the job

The shifts are fully rotational including nights, weekends and Bank holidays.

We are currently looking for dynamic, caring, and innovative health care assistants to make a genuine difference to patients, and their families, throughout their inpatient journey.

You will assist the nursing team in maintaining high standards of patient care, ensuring patients individuality and privacy are maintained at all times. You will assist and participate in activities to meet occupation and psychological needs of the patients in your care.

  • Manual handling of patients, using lifting aids

Qualifications

Essential

  • Level 3 qualification (e.g. A-level, NVQ3) in Care or Level 2 qualification (e.g. GCSE, NVQ2) in care and will be expected to undertake the relevant level 3 qualification on appointment to post
  • Will be expected to meet the Care Certificate standards within 12 weeks of commencing employment with the Trust
  • Management of Actual and Potential Aggression (MAPA) training
  • I understand that I will be asked to provide original certificates to verify my qualifications at point of offer

Knowledge
