An excellent opportunity
has arisen for an enthusiastic individual to join the Podiatry Arrow team. 37.5 hours per week, worked over 5 days , although there may be an opportunity
to job share the post .
There will be the need to
work in clinics , care homes , acute and
community hospital settings and patient
homes across the Redditch, Droitwich, Evesham and Pershore areas.
You will be a self driven ,
autonomous practitioner , using evidence based practice to assess patients ,
empower patients , formulate care plans
, deliver treatment , and refer on where appropriate .
The team has a strong work ethic , we are
extremely supportive and work together to provide the highest quality podiatry
care to an extremely high-risk caseload. . We are a positive, responsive team,
welcoming new ideas.
You will have the guidance
of the team to encourage their development , and will have support from the multidisciplinary footcare team and the
muskuloskeletal team to provide a seamless patient journey .

contribute to a robust supervision model, which has a strong emphasis on shared
learning and support.

Main duties of the job
The
post holder will provide high quality assessmemnts and treatments in clinics ,
patient homes , residential homes , acute and community hospital wards .
These
treatments include simple wound care , and routine podiatry for extremely high
risk patients , to maintain and improve tissue viability , relieve pain , and
assist patients in maximising their independence and mobility .
Your
treatments will be recorded contemporaneously , and to the highest standards
reflecting the trust documentation and record keeping policies , and the
standards expected by the Royal College of Podiatry .
You
will be required to liaise with other services , within countywide podiatry ,
and outside of it , including GPs , nurses , and care agencies .
You
will join a nail surgery rota with your colleagues .
You
will join the team in telephone triage for new and existing patients , to
prioritise care for those most at risk .
You
will participate in peer review , reflective practice and audit , and actively
participate in clinical supervision .
You
will be responsible for maintaining a CPD portfolio , and taking responsibilty
for your own mandatory training.

Job responsibilities
You will be required to assess diagnose and treat patients with
predominantly high risk feet according to best evidence based practice. This
will include full screening for patients with, for example, diabetes mellitus
where necessary using specialist equipment
Report and/or liaise with the Senior Podiatrist and Team Lead, or
other appropriate person, in relation to any perceived risk, either in regard
to clinical or non-clinical related issues.
Supervise and provide a point of reference for Podiatry Assistants
and participate in the Preceptorship programme.
Attend
any relevant and/or appropriate meetings in liaison/discussion with the Team
Leader
Provide support for colleagues and supervision for podiatry assistants.
Maintain confidentiality at all times.
Be able to gain patient consent and inform and agree treatment
outcomes. Respect the individuality, values, cultural and religious diversity
of clients and contribute to the provision of a service sensitive to these
needs.
Identify
through assessment patients who do not reach podiatry access criterion and to
be able to diplomatically discharge such patients in circumstances where there
may be confrontational barriers to such a process.
Ensure all patients are aware of the
appointment system within the relevant area of work, especially with regard to
the access procedure for any urgent medical need.
Raise the profile of the service through
attendance at, or participation in, any activity which in negotiation with the
Team Leader, appears to be appropriate.
Participate in clinical supervision.
Participate in the Staff Development and Review
process with the Team Leader to identify professional and/or personal areas for
development.
Participate
in team meetings.
