An exciting opportunity
has arisen for an innovative and well-motivated therapist to join the
countywide Worcestershire Adult Speech and Language Therapy Service, which
covers Community Hospitals, Out-patient Clinics and Specialist Teams, with the
aim of providing the optimum evidence-based service for the people of
Worcestershire.
This is a full time B6
specialist SLT post - part time
considered with a minimum of 18.75 hours - and the successful applicant(s) will
join our experienced team in the south of the county working collaboratively across
Community Clinics and Inpatient areas.
You will be integral to
the continued development of the Service into a high performing, well respected
provider of timely, safe and effective Speech and Language Therapy input for
our patients, therefore we require an ambitious and creative individual who is
self-driven and who also works well within a team.
You will be supported
with excellent management and clinical supervision in this post, which is based
in the south of the county.
You will provide
specialist assessment, diagnosis and case management for clients with a range
of communication disorders and dysphagia related to a variety of diagnoses.
We are happy to
negotiate flexible working hours to fit with individual needs as well as
fulfilling the requirements of the Service.
Main duties of the job
A
typical day will involve working face to face in a clinic, hospital or
domiciliary setting carrying out clinical duties with patients, communicating
with families and carers; liaising with other SLTs and relevant colleagues.
You
will work independently in the assessment and treatment of patients with
communication and swallowing disorders, completing clinical documentation on
our electronic notes system.
You
will formulate individual therapy programmes targeting realistic patient-led
goals, as well as offering support and education to carers/families.
You
will attend clinical and service meetings.
You
will provide training to colleagues on a formal or informal basis.
You will receive
training and supervision, and will engage in self-directed learning.
