The Beacon Maternal Mental
Health Service (Reproductive/ Birth Trauma & Loss Service) is expanding and
has the exciting opportunity for an additional full time CBT therapist that can
work Monday to Friday. The postholder will be required to travel across both counties.
We are looking to appoint a highly skilled and experienced CBT Therapist to
work in the Beacon MMHS. We are ideally
seeking someone who has skills, experience, and an interest in working with
women who have experienced birth trauma or perinatal loss. The service will
also offer a service to those who are affected by tokophobia. The Beacon MMHS
will provide consultation, advice, signposting, and targeted interventions to
women, either face to face or virtually depending on the womens preference.
The postholder will have the opportunity to work collaboratively with many
other professionals and organisations. The successful candidate will be
provided with an orientation programme and learning package.
Main duties of the job
A typical week will involve working autonomously and as a
part of the multidisciplinary team, offering assessments and psychological
inventions collaboratively with women experiencing moderate to severe mental
health difficulties. You will attend Multidisciplinary team meetings and
participate in evaluation and improvements within the service. You will manage
your own caseload in line with local and national directives and meet the
commissioned service specifications. You will support women in 1:1 or group
therapy. You will maintain clear accurate records and attend regular
supervision. You will undertake CPD to further your skills and knowledge and
provide training to other professionals. You will maintain close links with the
team and other professionals promoting the service. You will be required to
travel to different outpatient locations across both counties. You will have
the ability to demonstrate that you are responsive and flexible to meet the
requirements of the service

Essential
- Qualification from high intensity course for adults in the modality required by the service, either High intensity CBT, High Intensity PCE-CfD, High Intensity IPT & High Intensity DIT
- Full accreditation with BABCP or actively working towards accreditation to achieve provisional accreditation within one year of appointment and full accreditation within two years of appointment
- Good record of continuing professional development and willingness to continue this
Desirable
- Qualification in more than one approved therapy
- Qualification in other therapeutic approaches such as mindfulness or EMDR
Experience
Essential
- Demonstrable experience of working in mental health services
- Demonstrable experience of working in a service for clients with a range of mental health problems
- Experience working as a psychological therapy practitioner and demonstrating key competences as outlined in Roth & Pilling competency framework
- Experience of successfully treating a range of presenting problems with high intensity therapy in line with NICE guidance
- Has worked in a service where agreed targets are in place, demonstrating clinical outcomes
- Experience of using disorder specific measures to inform clinical practice
- Experience of delivering treatment, using disorder specific models
- Experience of accurate and detailed assessment and management of risk
- Has received training (either formal or through experience) and carried out risk assessments within scope of practice
