Job summary

Are you a qualified practitioner with post qualified experience looking to move to a new specialism? If so this may be the perfect role for you.

This development role will give you insight and experience in working in a busy CAMH team developing your skills as a mental health professional working with children and young people who are experiencing moderate to severe mental health illness. We will offer you access to clinical and line management supervision as well as both external and internal training that will enhance your skills. Our aim is to offer you a role and duties where you can see if working in this exciting specialism is for you and as long as competencies are met to promote to band 6 within 12 18 months of your start date. You will carry a caseload and work both autonomously and within a wider MDT.

We are looking for colleagues from nursing, OT, social work backgrounds to enhance our team discipline mix. Your clinical base can be changed to meet your needs is this the role for you?

Main duties of the job

The service runs primarily from 9- 5 Monday to Friday offering both office/clinic and home working. Our primary aim is to offer the best service to the children and young people who require our care. Many staff work flexibly within the hours and we can discuss options with the successful candidate if this is helpful.

Duties in your role include offering mental health assessments and care planning/treatment for moderate to severe mental health illnesses that are experienced by those aged under 18 years. After a period of induction you will carry a caseload where you will work autonomously to deliver the care we aspire too. Preceptorship and training be offered to support your development to band 6. You are expected to engage in supervision and start to identify which evidence-based modality you will want to develop to support service delivery. You will have access to an experienced and varied MDT and become a valued member of our service.We are a countywide service with some cross county working required for which you will be paid travel expenses as appropriate.
