Job summary

If you enjoy a varied working day dealing with a mixture of administrative tasks and enjoy supporting busy NHS frontline teams then this is the role for you!

We are looking for a friendly and flexible band 3 administrator to support our busy Community Hospital administrative team. The role will require a dynamic approach to getting things done and the willingness to be able to support and work with staff in other administrative roles across the hospital. There is lots of interaction with other teams and services so excellent communication and enjoyment of working with people is key. You will work closely with senior colleagues and admin team management to ensure a comprehensive and efficient administrative service is provided. This is a new role and an opportunity to shape an interesting and fulfilling administrative job. There may be some travel requirements to other community hospital sites which we will discuss at interview.

Main duties of the job

You will be supporting a Senior Administrator and working with other administrative staff such as Ward Clerks, Receptionists and team administrators to ensure the day to day running of the community hospitals administrative functions. As part of a small team you will also form part of the wider team of administrative staff within the community hospitals. Typical duties will include supervising / supporting staff, answering telephones, inputting information into electronic systems and helping to organise and support meetings. A willingness to cover for staff in other key administrative roles is required and the enthusiasm to learn and use the different electronic systems is essential. Use of Microsoft word for typing letters and notes and inputting in to excel spreadsheets for any necessary reporting functions; outlook is used to manage emails and for diaries. Carenotes and Oasis is used in clinical areas so knowledge of those or any other EPR systems is useful, but training can be provided. There is a wide range of administrative tasks that you can get involved in and help to shape how the processes are run going forwards to best support our clinical staff and patients.
