Job summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Paralegal to work in our in-house legal team, supporting the Head of Legal Services, Solicitors and other Paralegals.
Applicants should have a good work ethic and either a law degree, or hold CILEX Foundation, SQE (or working towards) or equivalent. Applicants should be able to work to their own initiative with minimal supervision, however induction and training will be provided at the outset of employment.
The role benefits from flexible working arrangements, with 2 days a week in the office and 3 days working from home or another Trust location.

This is a fixed term post to provide cover for absence for specific purpose that we anticipate will be required for 12 months. We reserve the right to end this contract sooner with appropriate notice.
Please note the Trust is unable to provide sponsorship to work for this role, to apply you must have current right to work in the UK status. If you are employed on an acceptable time limited visa, there is no guarantee of sponsorship at point of expiry.

Main duties of the job
The role will predominantly be providing support and assistance in relation to preparation for Inquests, however, support in relation to preparation of claims against the trust and general advice on legal matters in the Trust, may also be required.You will be obtaining witness statements and preparing bundles of documents, as well as liaising with staff, external Solicitors and the Courts. You may also be required to attend at Court to take a note of the hearing. You would be part of a friendly team working in a Trust which provides the legal services for three Trusts Herefordshire and Worcestershire Health and Care NHS Trust, Worcestershire Acute Hospitals Trust and Wye Valley Trust.
