Job summary

We have an exciting opportunity for a band 5 nurse to join our team and work collaboratively alongside the Band 6 Senior Paediatric Continence Nurse and Band 4 Community Paediatric Bladder and Bowel Nursery Nurse.

The aim of our service is to deliver specialist education, support, information and when required continence products to paediatrics referred to the service.

The post is for 21.5 hours over a minimum of three days, with an expectation that you are able to be flexible to meet the needs of the service and we can be flexible back to provide a healthy work life balance.

You should be an effective team member willing to share experience and knowledge to help support your colleagues as well as a willingness to learn and develop to ensure the team delivers excellent care.

Main duties of the job

Your role will involve completing new continence assessments and reassessments for clients who are being supported by the service and manage your own delegated caseload. You will be supported by the band 6 to triage new referrals and deal with queries as they arise. As well as providing advice and health promotion to families, school teams and other professionals you will also focus on providing healthy bladder and bowel advice and assessing a childs readiness for toilet training. You will implement treatment plans in line with national guidance.

You will work independently visiting children at home, in schools and at clinic across the county. You will also be completing assessments and reassessments by telephone, and will potentially be involved with safeguarding meetings.

The team is small, so everyone plays a role to support each others role so you will be required at times to cover for the band 6 during periods of Annual leave and sickness, and undertake some admin tasks full training and support will be provided.
