Job summary

We have an exciting opportunity for a psychologist/ neuropsychologist to work in our community neurology team in Worcestershire for 4 days. We would support someone moving from a different specialty or if you are due to qualify in the next six months. The successful candidate will support the development of a matched care approach with an emphasis on MDT working and psychological consultation. They will have experience in undertaking neuropsychological assessments, delivery of psychological, vocational, and neuropsychological interventions as well as consultation, teaching and training. The psychology team is very supportive and has lots of development opportunities. We are committed to continued professional development and have previously supported clinicians to complete their QiCN as well as EMDR training and CAT training. Main duties of the job

Providing neuropsychological assessments and interventions for people following a neurological diagnosis. Interventions may involve family members and carers and include liaison and consultation.

Active contribution to MDTs: providing case discussion and care planning with an emphasis on sharing holistic biopsychosocial formulations and evidence-based interventions

Contributing to audit, research and service development work

Providing formal and ad hoc supervision to other staff, including trainees as well as providing teaching and learning opportunities.

Providing clinical expertise and leadership in the psychological and cognitive needs of people with acquired and neurodegenerative diagnoses and their families and contributing to a culture of support and collaboration both in the service and with partner agencies.

  • Experience of assessing and providing a wide range of psychological interventions to patients presenting with the full degree of clinical severity and across a range of clinical mental health presentations

  • Post qualification training in specific, evidence based techniques for use with clients with complex psychological presentations and/or physical health difficulties, across the age span.
  • Evidence of regular further professional training and experience as required by the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) and the BPS
  • Eligible for registration as a Chartered Psychologist (Clinical Counselling, Forensic or Health) by the BPS
  • Registered with HCPC as a Practitioner Psychologist
  • I understand that I will be asked to provide original certificates to verify my qualifications at point of offer.
