Patient Safety Co-ordinator

Job summary

We are seeking an organised and proactive Patient Safety Coordinator to support the Trusts Patient Safety Team. This is a key role providing high-quality administrative and data support to ensure incidents are processed accurately, learning is captured, and governance processes run effectively.

You will support daily incident triage, reporting, action tracking, meeting coordination and Ulysses system administration, working closely with clinical services and the wider Quality & Patient Safety Team. Strong attention to detail, confidence with data and IT systems, and professional communication skills are essential. Experience of using Ulysses or a similar incident reporting system is highly desirable. Training and support will be provided for the right candidate who can demonstrate strong systems aptitude and a willingness to learn.

Full time (37.5 hours per week), MonFri. Hybrid working available.

Main duties of the job

In this role you will provide dedicated administrative and data support to the Patient Safety Team. A typical day will include supporting daily incident triage, updating and maintaining incidents on Ulysses, overseeing safety dashboards and service concerns, and allocating Learning Response Leads in line with agreed processes.

You will extract and collate data for reports, monitor actions arising from reviews, and coordinate patient safety meetings, including preparing papers and tracking actions. The role involves liaising with clinical services regarding incident follow-up, responding to complex correspondence, supporting Smart Survey administration, and maintaining data quality and information governance standards.

You may also provide line management support and cross-cover within the wider Quality & Patient Safety Team.
